It was a wonderful experience talking to Dr. Bjarne Stroustrup over the weekend. With this exclusive interview we have started a series of interviews aimed at inspiring our readers. In reply to a question, Dr. Stroustrup said that the most interesting application of C++ is in the Mars rovers. “Those are most interesting “gadgets”. The Mars Rover project is one of the most impressive engineering feats to date and I’m proud that C++ is a prominent part of the systems involved; not just on the Rovers themselves, but also in the communications systems, testing, and image processing, and more.”
Dr. Stroustrup recently completed writing a new book, Programming: Principles and Practice using C++” which will be available in October 2008, but can be currently pre-ordered on amazon.com
